Wildboarclough: Clough House, Danebower Hollow and Three Shires Head

Moray was over from The States and, as per his previous visit some six years ago, we went out for a walk together. Rather than returning to Edale and Kinder, we decided on the walk that Jacinta and I know as "Wildboarclough". The walk starts at Clough House, a kilometer or so north of the hamlet of Wildboarclough, follows the line of Cumberland Brook and climbs to Danebower Hollow. At this point there used to be the option to take a detour to The Cat and Fiddle for a coffee and (sometimes) a snack, but sadly they don't serve these any more. We walked south-east to cross the A54 and followed the path to Three Shires Head- this was the only stretch where we encountered any significant mud. After Cut-Thorn Hill, it was through the fields to Crag Hall and along the road back to Cough House. Honour having been satisfied, and the weather being chilly for a Florida resident, we called it a day.

5.4 Miles, 333m of ascent.
